I'm getting an unplayable content message, status code: 51-C00DF236, informing me that I need a media update. I have the update and have never had any problems playing divx/xvid videos on my console before. Just earlier today I was playing videos that are now unplayable. The strangest thing is that optional media update is now gone from system settings > memory > hard drive > system items where I think it used to be. Literally the only thing I did in the meantime was beat Splinter Cell Conviction. I would just download the update from live but I'm banned so thats not an option. The media update isn't available for download on xbox.com so I can't update it manually. The only other option I've read about is to jtag my console, which I'm not really familiar with, and then copy the media update on to the hdd with xplorer360. I guess I'll do that if I have no other options, but I wanted to check here to see if anybody has resolved this problem another way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

My understanding is that the banning process removes the optional media update as an extra little F*** you from M$. If your console is banned the JTAG hole would likely have been patched my M$ making it impossible to JTAG your console as well. Now that it is banned it is really only any good for playing games offline.

I thought it might have something to do with that, but I've been banned for almost a year and have been playing the videos with no problems. And I haven't had the console connected to my network at any time since I was banned.
