Hello.

I seem to be having a problem getting COD Modern Warfare 2 to work on my Xbox which I have not come across on any site as yet.

I have updated my firmware to ixtreme 1.51 on my Hitachi 0078 drive and all my current backups are working fine. However when I come to running Call of Duty I am having an issue which I have not come across on any forum as yet and I've done a fair amount of searching.

Here's the problem, the game loads up OK up to the point where you select which game type you want to play, special ops, the normal game or multi player. No matter which option I select, the screen goes black as if it is trying to load for approximately 30 seconds to a minute, a logo flashes on screen for a split seconds and then I am given the bad media message. I've burnt the game twice now however I come across the same error message for both discs.

I've burnt a good few discs in the past using imgburn with no problems. I've set the layer break to 1913760, the burn speed to 2.4 and book type to DVD-ROM and don't get any error messages when burning the disc. I have tried using the activation disc however this has no effect (I believe this is no applicable for Hitachi drives on ixtreme 1.51).

I've also tried manually downloading the recent Fall 09 update from Xbox and running the update again as one site suggested, this had no effect.

Has anybody come across this problem before, what maybe causing it and how I could rectify it?. I don?t like wasting peoples time with silly questions and I have tried searching for a resolution however I have come up blank.

I appreciate anyones help in advance.

Thanks.

i agree. start from scratch. Remake a backup if you do it yourself. or get it another way but start over with verbatium blah blah blah ya you know. if its not that, then maybe try one of the discs you made in a friends and see what the result is. that wil eliminate or confirm the disc.

we all need help at one time or another.

Try burning the game with Xbox Backup Creator. Do a ABGX check. Try using a different disk brand. Hop on one foot, rub your tummy and sing, Old McDonald. . . ok, not the last one, but start with the first few suggestions. Try one thing at a time so you can see where the issue lies.
