so i have a friends xbox and it has the e71 (Bad dashboard update). so i put my hard drive and put tigerwoods 10 in and it came up with updating console, but now i get an error saying "Can't Update Your Console"

Anyone got any ideas

Try pressing and holding the sync button and then boot up the XBOX 360. See if that clears the update and then try again.

tired that with no luck.

its kinda weird if i put his stock 20 gb hdd or my stock 20 gb hdd it will say cant update because there is no hdd. but is i put my 120 non-stock hdd on it goes to cant update.

does anyone know where to download the newest xbox 360 update, i want to see if i update through usb if that will work. but the only update i can find is the fall 08 which is way to old.

honestly, this might be a good question just to call and ask microsoft.

Since you don't have to send it in, see if they can tell you where to find the files and how to fix it.

If you do get it fixed, post here to help others as well with the same issue.

not to sure what happend but the xbox was off for a while and i went to remove a game from it and bam it worked like normal.
