update iextreme 1.61 question?

my xbox has iextreme 1.61 on a lite-on drive 16D2S and dashboard 2.0.8955.0.
now ive read that u need to upgrade to LT+ in order to play the new games but ive also read that u can just change the wave of the new 10 and 11th wave games to 3rd or 4th wave meaning u dont have to upgrade.
so my question is
1. if i just change the wave to a lower wave will it boot up.also im using activation disk and i only play offline.
2.the new games wave 10 and 11 such as dragon age 2 ask me to update,if i do will i still be able to play my lower wave backedup games?

same question. if I patch a wave 11 game to wave 3 on xtreme 1.6, and i run the security update in order to play the wave 11 game.

can i play the wave 11 game?
or can i play the wave 11 game and not the prior wave patched games?
or i can't play any game?

Still haven't got a clear answer on this matter. Yes I know the best way is to upgrade to lt+ but like I said on earlier post I only play offline and I DO NOT play online ,so again please if anyone knows if I'm able to still use iextreme 1.6 using activation disk to play the newer games wave 10 and 11.
can I patched them with wavepatcher down to a lower wave
Also I have fable 3 and it boots up fine using activation disk so why isn't it working for others and I have a lite on drive
