i just bought a used hd from gamestop. so now my avatar is "blank" and it needs an update to put it back. if i update this will i still be able to play my backups.

also i can't play video off my an external hd. it tells me i need an update for that too.

so i am afraid to connect to the net as it may undo all the modding.

if u havent updated lately then yeah it will change ur fw and put new stock on it.but u can reflash it if u know how.and then u can play ur backups.if u dont know how to flash then might not wanna update

thats what i thought. because i know how up dates work.

i bought this xbox off cl already modded. because i am a mac and playstation guy.

what if i take the optical drive out and update the xbox 360 without it in.

would that result in a desired outcome?

i got it off cl because i thought it was too much work to modd it myself.

i just turned mac 8 months ago.

when 7 came out i got a mac because vista on my 17" toshiba SUCKED!!
