I have a flashed xbox 360 with a 74850C LITE ON that i flashed with i think ixtreme 5 a long time ago, and was using boot disk wave 4 to boot games.
I recently put mortal kombat in and accidently updated the update the game comes with, i wasnt thinking (its been 6 months since i played my xbox) and now my xbox wont boot any burnt games, as i understand it, this new dashboard update flashes your custom firmware from your dvd drive?
ok so as it stands, i dont have the equipment i used to originally flash my drive with custom firmware as it got lost. i also dont have a back up of my firmware and key etc asmy computer crashed and had to be formatted.
what can i install and how can i do it to play burnt games on the latest xbox dashboard that came with mortal kombat?
Mortal Kombat is wave 11, so it should have updated your 360 to dashboard version 2.0.12625.0. Are you definitely on that dashboard? If you are, which games have you tried to boot?
If you're on a newer dashboard version than that, then it's not working because your 360 has been flashed back to a new stock firmware. If that's the case, then the best thing to do is to update to the very latest dashboard (assuming you're not already on it), then flash your drive to LT+ 1.91.
You'll need the latest version of jungleflasher and jungleflasher.pdf guide to aid you in reflashing your console. The PDF is an interactive guide that will walk you through every step for your particular drive and situation. You will also need a VIA 6421 sata PCI card or compatible motherboard chipset to retrieve your key and update your firmware.
Since your drive is a Liteon 7XXXX series, you will need to do some work making a probe so you can retrieve your key.
If you prefer a really EASY solution, spend some money and grab a Maximus Lizard or a XBOX 360USB Pro.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."
I bought a PROBE last time, it was only cheap, I think i will do that again. Can you reccomend any good video tutorials for installing custom firmware to this new dashboard with a probe?
CK3 and probe should work fine. The Jungleflasher.PDF tutorial will walk you through the right way link and it fully illustrates the process. If you really want a video as well, look on youtube, search for your model Liteon and sort by the greatest number of views. Let us know how you did. Be careful with your traces and you should be fine.
