Sorry for asking a Q that has probably been asked many times before. I now have 2 banned consoles and 1 good one. One of the banned ones used to connect to my PC and stream Divx movies, i twas updated online before i got busted. the other banned one not so lucky - we just used it for games. now i would like to stream divx to it but need the "optional media update". Does anyone know if there is a way to achieve this with a banned console?

Have you tried installing the new dashboard update using a USB pen drive?

No, i read somewhere that dashboard updates dont have the content updates and you can only get it from xbl?

Thanks for that, before i try it do you know if i need to be connected to xbl for it to work. i have seen quite a few post where ppl cant seem to stream divx without being connected to xbl?
