Upgrading a hard drive

Hi guys, I'm planning to Upgrade my harddrive (after uncrippling my HDD). Got 60 and im planning on either going 120 or 250.
The thing is I see that the drives they use are WD. Is it an obligation or any HDD that size would do? (What if i have a similar Fujistu 120GB (the one used in the 120 GB MS Harddrive).

WHat about a Fujitsu 120 GB with (the same model as MS?)

if you read the readme it says it will only work with wd bevs as thats what the hddss.bin is written for.
i am happy to help but you need to make more effort and search and read.it says it in very clear writing in the readme.

they say I quote:

So I guess it's normal to ask if we can use the very same drive as MS.

Dude, i agree it is normal for you to be confused and ask it one time, but when you got the answer, which was "no", then you shouldnt have asked it again, no? ;-)

@johnny412: I feel really pity for you and the guys who keep so much insisting on "Read the bla bla bla", "use the search button", or asking to read between the line, while having to answer the question twice or n times is far more efficient than wasting ur time in low value added answer (really save your breath).
You can see from my status (member) that im not new here, and you can see that I did some extended reading. So please, answer clearly, or dont even bother wasting your keybord key springs.
But overall, thank you for taking the time to answer my question cause at the end of the day, I have got ( since we've got here) As you said I cant use a same drive as those MS puts in the HDD boxes,would this mean that my 60 GB drive (which is a hitachi - MS one) if I unlock it and format it, I can never flash it again to put in my XBOX 360 later on? Thanks in advance

i think this is done.nash79 just buy a wd hard drive its far easier.
they are cheap enough and you can use a 250gb drive now.i dont of anyone who has used anything else but that does not mean its not possible, just extremely unlikely. :o)

MY QUESTION IS: "If I unlock and format my 60 GB XBOX 360 drive, I wont be able to get it back to work in my XBOX anymoe? (a Clear "YES you can make it work again"/"NO you can't make it work again" is highly appreciate it

why would you format your stock 60 gig drive for something else? you really cant do much with that. just throw it in a cabinet in case you need it sometime else.

Let say for the sake of discussion that i pressed on a "magical button" by mistake and it got unlocked and formatted in one shot, can I get it back to work on a Xbox 360 again?

No you can not. The only way out there right now is hddhackr. The guy who wrote it only wrote it to support western digital drives. Even if you cleared your hdd with your computer and stuck it back in the shell and had the xbox try to format it, it would not be able to because you deleted the signature that sits on sector 16 by reformatting and the xbox will not format it without that code. So no, that drive is useless as far as the xbox goes. Get a usb shell and have your computer format it and use it as a big flash drive.

THANK YOU, AT LEAST A 21ST CENTURY ANSWER. Thank you for this very precise, and straight to the point answer. I'm not a fan of answers that redirect you to the "it's obvious", since the latter is different from one to another.
