My roommate and I decided to split a 360 considering mine broke a little while ago. So we went to gamestop to get a used one. When we opened it and tried to hook it up nothing would connect. Looking at the back someone swapped the case and the motherboard wouldn't line up with the case so it was impossible to hook up the video cables to the console. Also when we turned on the console we found a burned game inside. We brought it back to gamestop told them that we just want refund. The guy didn't ask questions(considering we bought it an hour earlier). My roommate ends up going to gamestop again the next day to look at some games and the employee tell him that they're going to stop my refund cause we "tampered" with it. Is that even possible considering that they already processed my debit card refund? I thought gamestop tests and checks console before selling them i guess i thought wrong.

I guess you shouldn't buy from gamestop then. I suggest buying from costco or samsclub when buying 360s because there you can always return/refund with ease. And yeah they supposedly DO "check" everything before.

I refunded the 360 without a problem. I'm just worried that when they did find all these issues they thought it was me and going to somehow stop my refund back to my card.

Well still don't buy consoles from gamestop. As for your card if they didn't refund it then wouldn't they have to give back the console? Pay with cash next time? Just tell em you bought it like that if they don't wanna give refund.

I would even prefer ebay over Gamestop (even though I might buy a Game boy advance sp there as soon as my payment is on my bank account, 30 Euros for one + one game is just too good of an offer).

Why didn't you just simply say there was a problem with it and exchange it for a working one?

And I don't think Gamestop cant keep your money AND the console.

In the end i just decided that i'm better off saving a little bit more money for a new one anyways. Besides my brother went through a few used ones from gamestop before deciding to buy a new one. I don't live at home anymore so i thought getting my own brand new one would be nice.
