Is it possible to hook up a probe to... lets say a computer, without a connectivity kit, and flash the 9 series liteons?

I was told that it's possible to simply hook up the plug that supplies power up to a computer... was just hoping someone could confirm this for me.

If you have the Probe2 or the Vampire, you'll need the connectivity kit that goes along with it. Only other way is to solder a switch and a 22ohm resistor to your LiteOn PCB after you have made the cuts to dump the firmware.

No, the Probe2 and Vampire are used in conjunction with the connectivity kit.

If you go for the resistor option, then you can still use the xbox to power your drive. This is not however recommended as this could flag you for a ban
