hey i am having a problem with verbatim discs. only a certain type reads in hitachi. i have 2.4x dvd+r dl singpore discs that won't read. they have three boxes on the right side of the disc,| 8.5gb | 2.4x | 240min| . the other disc type only says 8.5 gb but works fine. i don't know what kind those are though? anyone familiar with that particular disc or know which bundles contain them?

UPdate: by the bar code on package is a verbatim# the 2.4x are 95310 and the 8x 97000

AFAIK there are two versions of Verbatim DVD+R DL disks.
The media code can be read using the likes of ImgBurn Insert a disk and click the 'Device' tab.
It will also list the speed(s) that your burner can apply - the only way to test them is by trying the listed burn speeds.
