Hello everyone. I know I'm probably going to piss people off, and get smart remarks but here goes.... I've soft modded my first wii on first try with ease, and want to look into getting an xbox 360 elite modded to play burned games. I have been searching and reading a lot, and it seems so overwhelming and complicated. And most of the information I find are a little old. Then there are the constant bickering between people about what is best. Simply put, i do not want to rip any games myself. I will acquire games differently. I want to be able to play iso's or whatever either off the hard drive, or burned games(that I will not be ripping myself). I know I will need to buy a new dvd burner for better burn results. Aside from that i am completely clueless. I think I will be going with a SamsungSATA dvd burner, if you can suggest better, please let me know. I know about hacks and firmware, but there are different types right? I don't want to solder anything if possible. So, what will I need to do with my xbox 360 elite to flash it to play backed up games or games from hardware, whichever is preferred. How do i open the xbox to do it, what tools will I need. I've looked through faqs i just need something more current. If you don't want to explain anything, that's fine, links to tutorials for everything will be great, and I'll be happy to read up on it all. Remember, I just want to know what needs to be done to me xbox 360 to be able to play the burned games, how to do it, and what software,firmware, and programs I need for my xbox 360 elite and dvd burner. The latest and best firmware at the moment is iXtreme 1.61 as it plays all waves

Ah, one more question sorry. I read that xbox 360's released after September 2009 can't be flashed? Is this worked around by replacing with a different drive? thanks.

no you will need to get the key from the drive in your system but it can be hacked.
try to google texbooks guide to hacking the 360.
Thanks for the hep guys. I've got a lot of reading ahead of me. I am considering getting a refurbished 360 elite maybe with a chance of an older drive. For now...I'm going to listen to music :D
