So my Lite-On returned as 0x0 (sad face)

So I need to do this:

No, the drive is not bricked. As long as you have the dummy bin you are fine.

What is probably causing the freeze is the VIA driver. Try this:

1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
3. Re-Enable VIA card in Device Manager.
4. Re-boot PC.

Try turning on the drive again, and then loading up JF. If it doesn't freeze, re-send the Lite-ON erase to the SAME IO port you were using.
However, I can't find the "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys"

Whenever I turn on my ck3, the computer freezes

I'm planning to do this:
Quote:
Your drive is blank it now needs to be flashed.
You will need to eject the tray if you have closed it see below.
You will need to use iprep to flash the firmware back.
ALL YOU NEED IS IN MY DOWNLOAD THREAD.

Making your new firmware.
open jungle flasher and.

1. select load source firmware
2. yes to load ixtreme
3. click manual spoofing
4. click load key.bin (select your key.bin)
5. click load inquiry.bin (select your inquiry.bin)
6. click ok
7. click save to file
8. save as litcfw.bin

Now save this to iprep usb drive folder Backup\1234567\12345
you may need to make the folder 1234567 and then inside that folder create the folder 12345 save the litcfw.bin in there.

opening tray follow pic below then.....
Once you can open the tray pull the tray out fully and push half way back in. Now, hook it up to the PC using
Connectivity Kit and Sata, power on and flash your new firmware.

Flashing your liteon in iprep.
Start iprep and do the following:

1. flit 1234567 12345
2. follow instructions (power cycle drive etc)
3. select W to write firmware
4. type when asked litcfw.bin
Thats it youre flashed.

Thankyou please leave some rep.
but my VIA card keeps freezing my my computer!

Go ahead and save your custom firmware (ix1.6 + your dvdkey). There is a guide in my signature on how to make a bootable USB drive. Make a bootable USB drive and put your custom ix1.6 bin on it. Plus DosFlash16 (v1.7) and L-O-ERAS.exe. DosFlash16 has 2 files in it (dosflash.exe and dosflash.typ).

1. Boot to USB drive and type l-o-eras.exe XXXX (XXXX is your SATA port number your lite-on is connected too). Keep doing that til you get status FF72
2. Type dosflash.exe It should list your Lite-ON (the flash chip will be MXIC or Winbond/NEX)
3. Select the corresponding number to your Lite-ON.
4. Type W for write. Type the name of your ix1.6 bin. (example: Lite_CFW.bin)

It should go ahead and write the firmware to the Lite-ON.

Jungle Flasher should list the VIA's SATA ports number. You'll have to send the L-O-ERAS command til you get a response from your Lite-ON.

it says unknown flash chip

I did get FF72 after l-o-erase.exe

When i did the dosflash.exe it detected my drive on my VIA card, but it says that no identify possible, flash ID 0xFF and manufacture id 0xFF

does that mean the lite-on is bricked? :(

wow WEIRD

okay, so after i unplugged and replugged and powered on/off my lite-on

i tried to l-o-erase.exe it, and it kept coming up FFFF I think,

BUT when i used dosflash.exe it identified my Lite-On with MXIC!!!

I wrote my new firmware onto it. It said Data sum: 0B4A

Am i done?

HAVE I SUCCESSFULLY FLASHED MY DRIVE?

is there a way to check?
