I really don't understand this??? Can you help me...I bought this controller and put it in my pc and loaded the drivers? Do I need to disable it or enable it? My deal is labled under SCSI and Raid controllers, not under Storage controllers like yours?? I have no files named "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys" in my windows system32 folder...Then you enable it again? Then reboot, pull it back up and make sure its not installed in device manager??? You just enabled it....how can it not be installed??? Totally lost me....I know I'm stupid. Help
If your onboard SATA is compatible, you can skip the steps for removing the VIA driver.
In this tutorial I am using a VIA SATA card with the 6421 chipset.
I have removed the VIA driver from C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers folder.
To remove the VIA driver:
1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
3. Re-Enable VIA card in Device Manager.
4. Re-Boot PC.
First you will want to check a couple of things.
Make sure the VIA driver is not installed by checking in Device Manager. Notice the yellow exclamation mark.

i did read your top post. and if you cant understand the jungleflasher/leerage's tutorial on installing the PCI card, then you really have no reason to attempt to mod your xbox. installing the card is the easiest part of it.

you install the drivers. then open up your device manager, disable the card, it may say via raid 6421 or 3249, then open your system32 folder and delete the viamraid.sys or vsmraid.sys file. then go back to device manager and enable the device, when thats done it should have a yellow warning sign next to it, then restart your pc to see if it still says that.
the reason this works is because the ports still show up so it can be polled by jungle flasher or dosflash etc, but without the drivers installed it decreases the chance of a freeze up with them installed
