Warranty Sticker off ebay question

So I have 2 consoles and no warranty stickers, stupid, I know. I wasn't aware the hair dryer trick when I modded these. They are the old silver sticker style. There is still the spotty silver stuff where I pull the warranty stickers off. I want to buy a sticker off of ebay but I have a couple questions.

1. It'll be fine to stick a new sticker over the original place even with the old silver spotty glue stuff still there, right?

2. Everyone has numbers next to their stickers, I'm assuming this is for their own reference the more I think about it, not any significance.

3. I can't find any that look perfect. Take this one for example. I can't tell if those imperfections at the end are to the point that I wouldn't be able to send it in for repair or it's just in the picture or what. Most I've seen seem to have imperfections like that.

best to clean all the glue off first. The sticker your looking at looks fine. I did just this with one of my xbox's and microsoft repaired it no prob's
