I was just wondering what microsoft does exactly when they ban a console. Also, how exactly do they block banned consoles from connecting to live?
Thank in advance

They don't ban you, where did you hear that? No one has ever been banned. I'm sure you searched

What were you trying to accomplish with that post? If there has been a thread that covered my question and I somehow missed it then by all means please link it.

Look again. You're blind. Use the big search if you can't see it.

I don't see anything that answers my questions. Perhaps you can show me which topic you are talking about?

I read through the first 15 pages, I am not asking HOW or WHY they ban you, but WHAT is banned.
Since you seem to know wouldn't it be easier to just simply tell me? I understand the concept of "Search before you ask" but in this case searching has not done anything to abet my situation.

Found this using google.
Quote: Every piece of network connecting equipment, wireless or wired has a MAC address.
Also every Xbox 360 console has a unique serial number. This number is sent to the Xbox Live server when you sign in.
The ban works using one or either of these unique numbers, most likely the machine serial number as this is very difficult to modify.
They do NOT ban your IP address, as is may be shared with multiple other users and so is not unique. Nor do they ban the Gamertag as all they want to ban is the modified console and not the cash cow consumer paying £39.99 per year.

I know, searching is pretty rough these days! Why search when you can post and have someone do it for you?
