What is OpenKey and how to use it

Ok, so I've been seeing all of this buzz about OpenKey and FreeKey, but I have not found a real good explanation of what it is.

From what I can gather, however, it looks to be an alternate method of obtaining a lite-on drive key?

What is its usage, if that is true. How would I use it to obtain a lite-on key.

In the very newest model of Lite-Ons (83850), which haven't been out very long, it is possible to grab the drive key with only the SATA cable. When you get the key, it is encrypted. These programs you are asking about decrypt the drive key.

Dump the 83850C with LO83. In a command prompt window run: 

openkey.exe Dxxxxxxxxxx.bin
It will decrypt your key and make a Dxxxxxxx.bin.key. Then in JF 0.1.65 you click Import 83 key and it creates the dummy bin for you.

Note- This only works on 83850C Lite-Ons.

You guys rock, thanks lol. I thought that was a new lite-on, but I didn't take the time to look into it.
