i having the dude do my xbox360 liteon drive today but i wanna make sure im getting the right firmware so i dont have to pay him twice this month.

is should be 1.61 but is there anything that coming out tomororw that not going to let me play my backups?

1.61 is the latest (free)firmware at the moment.
Apparently the new iXtreme LT is floating around a few resellers at the moment, but it costs 74.90 euros.

iExtreme should be released in the next few dayes, fingers crossed, so I would recommend holding off until then.

There is a version floating round the net, but its not official so I wouldnt recommend using it.
