Is this information still current? I only play my xbox 360 during winter months...I flashed it about two years ago...and then last year, when I tried to play games, they wouldn't work. So I started using the 'activation disc'...this year i tried a specific backup and i'm getting the 'open tray'...I figured it was time to open her up again and update the firmware. I hope I remember how!! Its been like 2 years at least!! so...my questions are..
What is the lastest version of firware I need for a Samsung drive?
Does it matter what my current FW version is?
Where is the tutorial at again? :)
Thanks!

for the samsung it's still LT 1.0 or whatever and abgx 1.0.5 but if you want to be able to play the new backups with the new protection you shouldn't patch it

I would go to LT, the iextremes were decthable by the dash updates. even if you don't play online LT is always safer. No LT plus for the Samsungs now, not sure if there will be. from what ive read they don't have the AP2.5 built into the drive.

So....technically...i should still be able to play the latest games without updating any of my currenty firmware? I tried to get Fallout 3 New Vegas, but i keep getting the 'open tray' error....what did i do wrong?

Can iextreme 1.6 w/ a samsung drive play all of the newest latest games still or do i need to update? I'd rather not unless it is totally necessary as i forgot how to update the fw!!
Thanks!
