Hi all
I recently flashed my 360 with xbr, i thought it was version 3 but i have to patch games with x360gamehacker for them to work. I was under the impression that this was no longer needed in xbr v3?
Is there a way i can find out what version im running?
also i run my games from a usb HDD via XeXmenu 1.1, extract the iso using winrar and unpack the image using Schtrom360Xtract and remove the update.
Thanks for any help
Dan

If you have to patch the games before they will work, im guessing you are not using XBR v3. I would re-download XBR and re-flash the nand. I am using XBR v3 and I have not had to patch any games for them to work. What region is your console and what region are the games you are trying to play. I have a NTSC console and I had to patch Bioshock 2 for it to work, but it was a PAL release so the patch was needed to remove the region lock.

Thanks mate, my xbox is pal and the games are pal so i guess im not on xbr v3.
Patching the games is no problem so are there any other advantages to re flashing to v3?

Big advantage. Many games suffered serious lag with the older version of xbr.

Yeah that is the newest one, you could try reflashing the nand. If you do decide to try that, i would erase the xbox 360 nand first (takes like 30 secs) then reflash XBR. Then flash your kv and config into the nand. How did you flash your kv and config the first time? Did you flash it into XBR before or after you flashed the xbox 360 nand?

Sorry for the thread hijack, but is there any benifit to injecting the config.bin file? I have never done it one any of my boxes (as I read it can cause issues with XBR)

Im not really sure, I do think that PAL users have to inject there config or they will get black and white screen (Not a 100% but I remember reading that somewhere). I have a NTSC Falcon and I injected both my config and kv and I have no problems. If you are having problems booting the xbox then it is recommended you flash your config into XBR. When i first flashed my xbox, It would only boot up 1 out of 5 times maybe. I flashed my config and it works great now.
