What will happen if I install dashboard update?

Hi,

I tried to play Catherine, but before I can it wants me to install a security update. Will installing this unflash my firmware?

(I have a liteon with very old firmware, I think like 1.4 or 1.5 something)

If you install the update, it will update the dashboard and flash your drive back to stock. Also, it could possibly flag your console for a ban. It's best to flash your drive back to stock, do the update, and then flash the newest firmware (LT+1.9). Now you can play the game "safely".

Don't think this game has a system update. Game updates are fine. If you signed into live it would have flashed back to stock.

Ok great, I don't use Live. I'll try and let you guys know in case anyone else is wondering.


Update: It downloaded 2.0.12625.0 - The one right before the reflash drive stuff. So I next time I update it will reflash mine (unless its only live updates that reflash and not game updates)

WEll that is not the current dash. Just update to LT + 1.9 and all games will boot.
