Best place to get games is somewhere like Game station, HMV or Walmart ;)
Only messing, I would say USENET accompanied with a Newzbin account is the best way to download games, it runs at full line speed, there is not uploading/seeding needed. It does cost a small nominal fee, but IMHO its worth it.
you could just borrow games from your friends or if you have lovefilms or something like that and then use this tutorial on how to copy and burn games (which includes how to stealth patch them as well). This way you know your not gonna download viruses. which i think is great, heres the link
