hey guys, what kit can I buy to flash my lite-on drives? I have a 83850v2 and a 9 series drive... I've just started researching some kits, and I see that there are MANY different versions and types...
I live in Canada, and want a kit that I can reuse... can someone recommend a good one...
It seems i was miss informed!! I have been reading up about the blaster and there is nowhere where it says it has a probe built in, sorry about that, if you want to read up about it just google ck3 blaster, personally i would just get the ck3 and probe as the blaster is just for one xbox which you just leave on the console( very good if you only have one and plan to keep updating its firmware as they are released) but no good if you plan to do others!!
Just get an Xecuter CK3 (connectivity kit) & Probe II (probe).
Or get a Maximus Extractor (connectivity kit) & Vampire (probe).
Both do the exact same thing and have dual tip probes in order to do a FULL FIRMWARE DUMP, which is what you should be doing with ALL Lite-On versions.
I use the Xecuter, and some of the other "well knowns" on the site use the Maximus. Either way you have a very reliable setup.

I have a guy in my area selling a CK3 kit with probe, but says its only for the liteon 7 series, and 8v1 series... it won't work for the 9 series... I know for sure one of my systems has a 9 series.. and my other xbox (going by manu date of Aug 09) I'm assuming has a 8v2 liteon... so this kit (according to seller) won't work... any idea's?

That's because the it's a Probe I. You need a Probe II for the 8v2 & 9 series.
