Who is NOT having trouble with AC-Brotherhood?

Post setup if you are NOT having trouble with it. I have LT (1st version?) and have NOT updated the dash but im afraid to try AC. Will AC ask you to update to the new dash and you can decline or if you do decline will the game not work?

there is an update folder in the game that will force you to update to new dash, if you have a sammy or a hitachi you should be ok, according to C4, if not best to wait, this was just posted in #fw a short time ago, [2010-11-13 03:44PM] <c4eva> lt+ testing begins this weekend, not long now! so i know you would like to play but i think if you have the liteon or the benq you would be better off to wait until that comes out.

It'll install, but as soon as you go to play it, you'll be prompted to update the dashboard.
Patching the video partition to an older wave will not work either, unless you're already on the latest Kinect dashboard, in which case there's no point patching the video wave anyway.

I was, but not anymore. I updated using the AC:B disc and installed game to the drive and it didn't work. My console was flagged after the third attempt at starting the game. I then spoofed to a MS25, and it still didn't work. I then reinstalled the update manually using a usb stick, and it worked. I don't know why installing the dashboard update a second time worked, but it did. Expect to be banned using this method though.

Fable III worked because it doesn't force you to update to the latest patch. Isn't it possible to just remove the dash update from the disk? Or replace is with a dummy file or a file that just reinstalls the current dash?

I have several machines -- and all of the various drives. I was thinking of trying out Brotherhood on the Lite-On 1.6. Is this the only one so far that works with the the Kinect dash after install? And still allows all other backups to work?

isn't it possible to just swap the systemupdate with the old one using wx360 or something similar. obviously not for live use but for those who still haven't updated.

I've seen a few people now who can play AC:B and Fable III with 1.6 on a Lite On.
Interesting, could be a solution for already banned consoles.

I haven't tried Fable III. But like I said AC:B works fine, as well as a few kinect backups that I tried.

so any Hitachi should be ok or just older ones? keep reading mixed results. That older Hitachis work fine and newer ones dont, or both work just not with AC:B but can do update and still play other games like Fable III. Does anyone have specific knowledge if all or some Hitachi drive will work? Wants to update but like i said reading half ppl saying will be fine other saying wont work.

i read that list this morning but cannot remember where it was, i do remember that 79 was not on the list, and some of the really old ones, but most of the ones in the middle were ok.

lame...so saying 79 hitachis are a no go then in till update comes out? Pretty sure mine is a 79 Hitachi.
is it all samasung drive good or some brands that are not good. i know i have a spare samsung drive around that should be older one but i dont know how old.

Spoof wont work at all? the The Samsung was my original drive, just had lens go bad on it and buddy just gave me his Hitachi while my drive was down since he didnt need anymore so put that one in place. Did fix lens on Samsung drive but just kept the Hitachi drive in.
Why wont spoofs work? this could cause some issues for me then?

well if its your original drive you should be good to go then, no worries with that drive as best as i can understand, c4eva said those drives were unaffected.

c4e was asked if spoofing to a samsung would save people and responded thats spoofs would be detected easily by MS

Ok so maybe i have had this wrong since the start...If i had a Samsung drive originally in my 360 i should be fine no matter what drive i have now? or only if i put my Samsung drive back in to my 360?

From what I've read, installing a game with AP25 that fails the security challenge with the Drive (with new dash, obviously) will record the failure. You'll get a disk unreadable error, and will be unable to play the AP25 title. But the rest of your games would be unaffected. And, you could still play a retail copy of the same game. But the flag will remain. If you go on line, you could be seen and banned.
Lite-On 74850, Ben-Q 64930, Hitachi 47DJ, Samsung MS28.

hey got a question for u all i got a ben-q drive iam able to play fable 3 but not ac brotherhood is that because of the new patch. and if it is is there going to be new firmware out soon to play it. or iam i doing something wrong soo it wont play. thx
