i've got the same problem i bought mine pre-modded at christmas from ghost so i assume its iextreme 1.5 everything else works fine gears 2 world at war, fallout but the two latest i backed up overlord 2 and batman arkham won't work just comes up as dvd disc i thought i was doing something but i've always used clone cd and verbatims at the slowest speed with no problem so i guess i will have to update my firmware too although it might be easier to send it to ghost it costs £30 to update incl shipping cause i'm worried i might screw something up.
both of those are wave 3 games. you can either update the FW, or run patch the games with a wave 2 file (which will lead to a banning). the choice is yours.

Dude, never suggests that to anyone concerning anything. ESPECIALLY 360 games. Burning faster never ever is a solution, its only a problem.
That's just f..king Bull. Burning at less than 2x is forcing the media to be burned at speeds it doesn't support. With verbatims the games might still work but with cheaper media like memorex the game won't.
Also there are some guys who made speedtests, even some here on this forum. Their results clearly showed that burning with higher speed produces less errors. Again, with verbatims you normally don't have any problems, but with cheaper media you do.
Actually this rumor originates back in the 90s when burners were still new technology with all their errors like no buffer underrun protection and so on. Back in the days it was actually true. But the 90s are over.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
