did you read my post? I updated the dashboard with the drive disconnected, then flashed it to stock (powered by 360) and went online. (no ban) may be that made a difference?

Honestly, there is no magically way to prevent being banned. I have (as well as many others here) flashed drives using console power and connectivity kits and have been banned all the same. As per your method, there is also a long running theory that powering the console without a dvd drive connected causes ban flagging too. Point is, no-one knows a surefire way to prevent being banned except using a console that has never eh..eh..eeeeeeeeeevveerr had its dvd drive modified.

Another good example I find interesting: People who have purchased brand new 2009 consoles, flashed them right out of the box and within hours (or days) have been banned. I know about 3 people myself.

Answer to thread title: If your dvd drive has been modded ... "maybe" but chances are very good "yes, you will".
