i have a 2tb sata drive successfully installed on another xbox for media center, so i know the sata adapters and the hard drive work just fine.
I have successfully prepped each drive individually, and am currently loading media to them... this will take a week at best, as filling 6tb via lan is a long time.
and lastly, i've successfully installed an xtender before, but noticed that 300gb ide WD drives did not work with the xtender... had to switch to 300gb maxtor drives (that xbox is still running fine to this day, and its beel 5 years now).
My question is... do you guys think this will work with 3x 2tb drives? i'm wondering if the reliability will tank like the old 300gb ide drives i had long ago...
has anyone tried this?
a 6tb xbox would be quite the media center... think of the media i can hold in one portable box! Hoping to have this ready by my vacation in 2 weeks... however i'm wondering if my work will be for nothing once i finally get all the drives loaded, as i cannot really test the xtender idea until i get all 3 drives loaded.
Thoughts? comments? suggestions?
I thought i would ask here, as there is surprisingly little discussion about the old xtender in combination to the 2tb drive installations of late... and am surprised as the xtender + 64 cluster partitioning seems to be a match made in heaven for XBMC!
Whats the point in 6tb on an xbox? i am a Data whore and 6tb for my xbox is rediculus i have over 40 games that take up less than 1tb so 6tb is just plain pointless. buy a Highcapacity high transfer NAS that uses 2 network cables or use the network as your sata (hard to accoplish but worth it)

The point is not for games, but for movies/music. I don't use my xbox for games anymore... more of an all-in-one media server for me these days. Sure i could stream it, and i do via media center extender on my 360, but this concept does 2 things:
1. backs up all my media in case a hard drive should fail
2. it is portable, so if i go on the road or out of town i can bring this little box with me and have all my media with me.

Streaming is cool, but not portable. I take my Xbox everywhere. My 1TB Xbox is loaded with almost 600 movies, 35 anime/cartoon series, 30 TV series, 300 CDs, & hundreds of pictures. 6TB of hardcopies sounds good to me.

UPDATE:
the xtender is very finiky, and as it turns out the wd drives i have do not like the cable. i'm trying to get my hands on a hydra cable that was presented in the v2 xtenders, but cannot find one anywhere. =/
not sure i will get this to work...
Anyone have a lead on a hydra cable??? i tried the "better shielded" cable from llama too... actually worked worse then the orig xtender cable i had.

I have a tb on my net work and my network is completely portable. I have the router and TB connected through cat5e and even have them on the same power setup so i take my network and xbox whereever i need to. also i take all my gear with me even if i won't need it all cause we all know that you don't need something until you don't have it.
