I have been looking in to modding my Xbox 360 and I think I know everything I need. I don't know for sure whether or not I need a new DVD+RW DL drive or not. I have an HP Pavilion desktop with a HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH40L DVD drive in it. I know it can burn dual layer DVDs but I don't even know the manufacturer. Does anyone know if this drive is able to burn ripped Xbox 360 games?

EDIT:
Ok I found that the HL-DT-ST is just another name for Hitachi/LG. Here's a link to the drive I have: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BLK-GH40L-DO-R&cat=DVD.
Will this work to back up games and is it able to be set to DVD-ROM bitsetting?

That drive should be fine. Truthfully I haven't seen one that won't (and I've even tried a few cheapies).

Ive only ever seen one samsung that didnt like burning xbox games.
