wtf cant play burnt games

I had xbox modded a couple months ago but it don't play backups anymore. i use verbs and haven't been playing much latley so I downloaded. Red faction ran it through agbx burnt put in and get play dvd error so I tried an old game same thing. Was it the last update for dash or laser it still plays regular games. Any ideas

The last update flashes all xbox 360's to to a newer firmware. This is so it can support the new disc layout (xgd3) http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=729970
