My drive went in my friends 360 and We have a new one going in but Were wondering about if we should get rid of the x clamps? I have an x clamp repair kit here so if we replaced those it wouldn't grind us to a halt. Is the repair kit better of just a jimmy rig? The console has never been apart till tonight. I'm confident in my skills to install the x clamp fix but don't want to if it will just do more damage where we don't have the rrod issue.

So I'm assuming it wont help as a preventative caution then. This is an older one and its been used a lot is why were worried. The drive is up and running but still got the case off testing it. Just want it to be as solid as it can be where its apart. Guess if we have an issue getting it apart again is easy enough.
