xb360 dvd drive replacement

Hi , I am a noob here. I have been working on an issue with my 360. The dvd drive is not reading games all the time, it will not start the first time I put it in. Some times I have to restart the system 8 to 10 times before it starts the game. Some times the game is interrupted & telling me to clean the disc & restart. I have been investigating the issue for a week now & have tried the laser"pot" adjustment to no avail. I have come to the conclusion that I have to replace the drive. My question after all of that is I have a Philips Model DG16D2S.. Do I have to replace it with another Philips ?? Or can I use an Hitahci or Samsung? After my investigation I have seen the Philips is the worst drive to have. I would appreciate any info on this . I need a fast answer back on this if at all possible. I will be chwecking back on this forum & my provided email before I go out to purchase a new drive. A huge thank you to all that can help!

Well here are your options: 1) replace/flash the drive; or 2) just replace the lens. there are plenty of sites including amazon where you can find drives and/or replacement lenses.

your phillips-benq drive is actually the best to have. hitachis are the worst, with samsungs right behind them. if you get the exact same model drive as your current one, you can just take out the PCB board from your old drive and put it in the new one and it will work just fine. otherwise, you will have to flash the new drive with your old drives FW.

Click on the link I've bought many drives from that seller best price and the drives are always packaged correctly and shipped fast the also sell Benqs just sort by seller items
