Hi guys.
I got an xbox from a guy that told me it dont turn on because
he connected a wired controller to one of the ports but the controller wire were bad, so after connecting it, the xbox 360 give him 3 red lights then shut down. I looked at the motherboard and all resistors looks good, I never fix an xbox 360 with a problem like this, so any one have an idea?

I'm going to assume the problem has nothing to do with the controller and everything to do with the 3 red rings...

the 3 rings happen when he connected the controller, he heard a sound when he connect it and then give him 3 red lights then shut down after that and never turn back on.

Check the pins on the front where the controolers plug in, if they are bent and touching it wont work, had the same problem with my friends , their kids were forcing the controller wire in the wrong way.
i opened it up and bent the pins back with some tweasers and its been fine since.
just an idea anyway, good luck.
