Xbox360 randomly hangs up

I got these random hang ups when I was playing Soul Calibur 4 which turning off the unit manually is the only way out. Initially I thought it was the game that causes the problem but I even got the hang-up in the dashboard & even boot-up.

I also like to note that when I booted up Blazblue(original copy) I got a message that the xbox360 "needs to be updated" before playing or something, I did not have this prompt before its like the hang-up somehow caused the unit loose the update data or so.

Is this a sign for RROD? I like to be sure before I send my unit for repairs. Thanks in advance.

it's definitely possible that you'll be getting the rrod soon.

But you can't send it in/MS won't repair it until it has that issue.
