hi guys this is my first post so treat me nice.i bought a 2 port switch box to add a xbox360. now if ihook up the cables to monitor or just the xbox vga cale by itself.the monitor goes blank and green light on front flashes.but when i plug in pc cable by itself no problems.so i have to mess about with screen resolution 1024 by 768 and then plug in xbox vga cable it works.now when i turn off my monitor at night .in the morning when i turn monitor on i have to plug in pc cable by itself again so going round in circles.have tried with friends monitor with no problems.so cables are all ok.so can you help.cheers

could you post the brand of your VGA box and PC monitor (is it an old CRT or a LCD one), that would be helpful ..

its a dgm tft and name of VGA SVGA LCD TFT CRT MONITOR 2 WAY SPLITTER SWITCH BOX maituo.its the same if i just use Xbox 360 VGA HDTV Cable & Optical AV Output .cheers

I may be wrong but it sounds like you need a VGA Transcoder. I use one on my 360 with my computer monitor and it works great. It's a little old school but a cheap way to convert to a monitor that doesn't have HDMI.

My transcoder is a VD-Z3 it's old but it works.

its not a transcoder.but thanks for looking.if i just plug in my xbox vga cale into monitor by its self still nothing until iplug in pc cable by itself and mess about with resolution any resolution and then plug in vga xbox cable byitself it works until i turn off monitor.cheers

In your Xbox system settings, change your default resolution and color scale to one supported by your monitor.
