Alright, i know this is Xbox 360 help, but the og xbox fourm was shut down, so i jus need to ask a question.
Im trying to play an import on my softmodded xbox 1, which i believe that i can, but my system wont play the game. The disc drive says it has an unkown disc in the drive, im jus wondering what am i doing wrong with this?
this will prob get shut down, but at least im tryin

Most Xboxes have issues with certain types of media. For example some will work with DVD-R but not DVD+R. Use google to find out what kind of DVD drive your Xbox has and what kind of media it will use. The second gen Samsung drive in my 1.6a Xbox will not recognize CD-Rs and gives the same message but it will load the cheapest, crappest quality DVD-Rs every time.

yah i have the 1.6, so im guessing its my entire xbox, thank you for your help!

Well if you've not used that type of disk before, then that's probably it. As far as it being an imported game I'm not sure that makes a difference or not. As far as I know all modded Xboxes both hardmod and softmod will play any region disk. I could be wrong. I wish I could tell you more, but I'm actually waiting for a mod chip to arrive as we speak :P

well again i thank you for your help, i know if i would've went with a mod chip i would've been pretty set. But i went with the price difference in the end. but what your saying makes sense, it plays and recognizes every other disc i have, but then this one it just doesn't like. I'm in the process of selling it now to see if I can buy a different one, preferably when i get some more answers :D

That one can be easily modded as far as I'm aware. Or did you mean the game?

Yep mine is a 1.6 as well and there are tons of good hardware mods for it. instead of selling the system try downloading a different version of the game and burning it. By softmodded you mean it can play burned disks right? Regular games should work region free as it doesn't test for the authenticity of the disk. The disk itself might also be damaged. Is any of the color missing on the top side? Faded? Scratched? Chipped?

the game itself is a real copy of microsofts "the wild rings", and yah my xbox allows you to play burnt games and has a huge hard drive, that allows you to copy games and play emulators. I will try however to find a download or burn this game, to see if i can get a burnt copy to play. The disk though is in fairly good shape, ive looked at it a few times thinking the exact same thing, and when i do all i can see is a clean disc haha
NOTE: i have found a DL link for this game, i love google, so im going to see if this will play, but something tells me i might have issues

great success! i burnt a copy onto a cd-r and it plays flawlessly! so thank you for all your help, and i hope you find ease with your chip!

Glad the type of disk was your main issue. Easiest fix ever :)
I will probably be ordering my mod chip next week. If I think of it, I'll update this thread and let you know how it goes.
