hi there,
I am planing to build my own XIM for 360 because playing FPS with a pad is just plain gay...

So I already ordered an XConverter 360 Plus and a PS2 extension cable. The biggest problem ist to get The ToolStickSK from Silicon Labs. I found some shops but they are all in USA or Australia. I live in Germany and shipping costs will be high. Besides I would have to pay 19% taxes because if I ordered from overseas...

Due to that I am looking for a shop in Europe that sells this part. Maybe someone has a hint?

There's the xim and the xim360. I use an xim360 myself and absolutely love it. I use to sell xim's on ebay.

The xim works great, but you'll still get a slight amount of lag due to the 360 to ps2 adapter. Where the xim really shines is on the PS3. That's because the adapters for the PS3 have a much better update rate.

As for finding the toolstick in the EU, I can't help you there as I'm in the States and ordered mine through Mouser.com. Maybe you'll have better luck if you ask in the xim forums.

By XIM360 you mean XIM 2?
I could not find specific information about XIM 360. They talk about XIM or XIM 2 in the XIM 360 community. I already got some important information on that site
I chose the XIM 1 because it ist much cheaper and I don't have to wait or pay ridiculous prices on ebay for XIM 2.

I do not understand what m$ problem is. The fact that people are willing to pay 300+ $ for a mouse/keyboard solution (XIM 2) should make them start their brains. They could bring a mouse and keyboard on market with security chip for 30,-$ each and would make more money than they do by selling pads.

effect:
- More money for m$
- People would enjoy first person shooter much more -> get better opinion about m$
- developers would sell more because people like me do not buy FPS on a console because of crappy pad control

update:
I think I managed to find a shop that sells TOOLSTICKSK to germany for reasonable shipping costs (7,49 EURO + 27,23 EURO for the controller).
Here is the link (I hope they sell to private persons):

Yes, xim 2. Officially it's the xim360, but people call it xim 2 for ease of not getting confused.

Yes, to buy an xim 2 is expensive. I was lucky and got in back when it was preproduction and diy kits were available, so it wasn't expensive for me.

It's debatable if MS offering a kb/m set would be beneficial or not. On one hand, kb/m support would be nice, but on the other hand this is MS, so if they did offer it the public may be locked down to only using 360-specific accessories, unlike the xim which lets you use anything you can plug in to a pc.

And, of course, if kb/m support was enabled on the 360, that's more work the game developers would have to put in to each game.

Looking at your posted link, that is the toolstick you want. I feel bad for you guys getting hit with such a high import tax.
