We just got a xbox 360 from ebay they said that the dvd-rom was stuffed so i put a brang new dvd-rom in and tried to play a game and it said some thing along the lines of put the disk into a xbox 360, it's an original disk and it just will not play, so i put another dvd-rom in and it said the same thing but they play movies and audio cd's but not any games disk's. So we put the dvd-rom that came with the xbox and it now works.

Do you have to do anything the the xbox then changing the dvd-roms?

Can't complain it worked out OK got the xbox with 20GB HDD, Power supply, and 1 controller for $84.45 AUD.

But we still can't figure out the changing of dvd-roms.

P.S Newbie to this forum and to the xbox 360

Thanks for any help.

Each XBOX 360 contains a unique DVDkey. That DVDkey is in the firmware of the original DVD drive. You can dump the key and flash it to another drive. If the 2 drives are the exact same model, you can swap the PCB boards.
