I just bought a brand new xbox arcade unopened.I also purchased a 250GB western digital sata harddrive and A hard drive case for the xbox.I can use alittle help on how to install the hard drive in the arcade system and does the hard drive need to be flashed or can it just be installed and then start playing.I heard it might need to be flashed.What does that mean.Any help will be greatly appreciated.Thanks.........

This is dated back in October of last year. I'm not saying that it's safe, but I haven't ran into any recent evidence to prove that it's not safe. I know dozens of people that have had hacked HD's since MW2 came out last year, and none have had any problems (yet...) Who knows for sure?

anthonygg is mistaken. That link talks about MEMORY UNITS, not HARD DRIVES. So far, nobody has been banned by using an Un-official HDD.

I haven't been banned with mine either! Besides, that article didn't mean that people are getting banned for unofficialmmem units! Lol it was just an update released last year to stop said mem units from functioning! Lol
Anyway, to answer your first question you will need to flash the hdd with the security sector from an original 250gb hdd! These, i think, can be found on xbins. Just google "hddhackr tutorial" and you should find what you need to know! ^^ you will also need to download xbins for the 250gb hddss.bin.
