I am having problems with keeping my 360 cool enough not to rrod and freeze. I recently purchased one of those tailspoon whisper fans and replaced my old one with it. it seems like there's hardly any heat coming from the back of my xbox while its running. after fixing rrod and reassembled, it would freeze within minutes if not seconds. if I leave out in the open and put a regular fan and put it on my xbox and turn it on high it won't freeze near as bad. its only froze twice in roughly 8 hrs of gaming. any help would be beneficial and appreciated.

Sounds like your RRoD isn't actually *fixed*. The damage the the system has already been done, and you'll need to do more than just whatever xclamp fix or whatever was done to *fix* it.

well I have 2 xbox 360s and I've done the same fix to both and it works fine for the other one (bolts and washers - no towel trick)

Having 2 360s RRoD doesn't mean the damage done to both is the same and/or equal.

Get a reflow done on the mobo.

What you've done isn't a fix. It's a bandage, that's like taping the bumper back on your car and saying you fixed it, it isn't going to last.

If you need extra cooliong I highly recomend this method, its low in price, I set up my buddy with an intec 360 cooler, it uses a seperate pwr source so when your done playing let it cool for 5 min, also any decent laptop cooler that the 360 can sit on, doing both will keep it cool.

So getting a reflow will fix my xbox 360? what's the chances or percentage that a reflow could mess it up at all or completely? I don't own a reflow station, but if I knew someone that had one how difficult with research would it be for them to fix it? and any info on the heatgun method?

None of the methods are truly long term fixes. I have had FIVE 360's die on me. I've used various "fixes" to bring them back to life, yet they still die soon after.

The real solution is M$ doing things right, but alas, we will probably never see that happen.

Overall the 360 is the worst console I have ever owned, as far as reliability goes. I have an original XBOX, Wii, Fat PS2, and Fat PSP. Not a problem out of them in all the years I've had them. Some people try to blame it on people not caring for their stuff but I do, and the fact that my other consoles are still running proves the 360 is junk. When you add up the expense of buying multiple 360 consoles, the XBOX 360 is also the most expensive in history, surpassing the PS3. 5 x average of $300 each = $1500.

My advice...sell it to Gamestop and get a newer Jasper, IF you really cannot live without a 360. They are somewhat more reliable. Otherwise ****can the 360 all together. It is the only way to show Micro$haft we won't accept crap products.

*EDIT: Nvm, you opened it so now you can't trade it in.
