sorry followed a bad link, actual website saying may be available on the 15th, of course the question is still the same, is it going to affect the flash? c4 said they wont be able to flash again since the spi is locked but are we going to have to update for a new wave?

Only time will tell. I don't think that anybody knows what's going to happen. We'll see come soon.

They may not do the traditional ban wave anymore simply cause they don't want to deal with a few hundred thousand customers calling in to whine at the same time. But, make no mistake, they're still gonna ban people off and on when they can tell someone isn't playing a retail copy of a game. I imagine they'll continue banning plenty of people, just be doing it in smaller doses.

I guess iXtreme has been so good that they can't detect and resorted to flashing all drives with dash updates.

I signed up for the beta and got in, so I should have the new dashboard any day now. Not that I have any knowledge whatsoever in how to analyse its security - I just want to see what it's like. :D

I naively updated with this new dash and cannot play any games now except retail ones. I was on ixtreme 1.6.

That's why its never a good idea to update your dashboard without flashing back to stock first.

Have you tried updating to the latest firmware? All should be good once you do.
