xbox 360 DL always says play DVD

Hi all,
I need some help. I bought a 2nd hand xbox. The guy told me he flashed the drive.
I can play DL burrned games like Cod Bo, fable 3 etc. Ive downloaded a couple of games and burned them on a verbatim Dl disk. but all the burned games come up as play DVD on my xbox console. Any help would be much appreciated

Run ISO through ABGX
If SSV file is SSV1, patch to SSV2 (tutorial on ABGX site).
Use IMGburn, and select the DVD file made by ABGX to burn, or delete DVD file made by ABGX and set layer break to 1913760 in IMGBurn - Settings>Write>Layerbreak
Burn at highest speed possible.

Hi outtatime,
already ran it through abgx360 and all checked out (dont know what the ssv means). Burned the dvd file produced by abgx at 2.4 speed. With the layerbreak at 1913760 (maybe thats where it went wrong?) tried to burn a boot disk but that came out as a DVD file aswell????

So i deleted the old dvd file and abgx created a new 1. Are you sure i have to burn at the highest speed possible? and do i still have to specify the layerbreak or is that not necessary anymore?

as long as you run it through abgx and then use imgburn just burn it with the dvd file not the image file it will set the layer break. try that

Sorry for all the noob questions. do i check the box for Layer break (For DL Media) to calculate optimal? And whats the best burn speed? 1 says Max is the best and others say 2.4x is the bast.

I already threw away 5 DL disks because they came out as play DVD in the console.

youdon't need to change the book type just double click the dvd file and click burn. imgburn does the rest and no faster then 4x

Hi,
did everything as you explained. Burned at 2.4x took about 42 mins. Popped it in the console. reading..... PLAY DVD. And then you get the famous white screen with the xbox logo.
The guy whom i bought the console from gave me a couple of burned games and they work fine.
COD BO Fable 3 GTA4 etc.
I don´t understand it. My dvd burner is supposed to be able to burn DL. Could it be broken somehow? But i guess it should give an error then shouldn´t it.
I´m really frustrated now.

I just find it weird that i can play all the games the previous owner burned, but i can´t play any games that ive burned. Tried to contact the previous owner about it but he wont reply.
I can´t try a different burner because i only have this laptop.

yea that looks good. do you know what firmware is on the drive? you could also try running a working game through ABGX to see if it shows a difference, like it was patched a certain way.

no i dont know the firmware on the xbox (how can i find that out) in the xbox menu there is a kinect option somewhere (dont know if that helps) i´ll try and run a burned copy an look for a difference. But as far as i know CoD BO is a newer game then assassins creed 2. so I don´t think its a firmware problem. do you?

you need to hook it up to a PC to find out what was flashed on it.
Im just guessing, but it could be possiable its a older fireware and he patched the wave down to a eariler version for the games to work. but if thats not the case and it plays those fine i would think you have LT+ because those shouhld be AP2.5 games.
