I was wondering if anyone knows of the key that all 360 discs have that allow discs to boot on the xbox 360. I have read somewhere that it is on each disc but has anyone ever tried to extract and inject this key back into an iso? I have been banned and so I have switched to xtreme FW and could careless about going back on live so i am looking to get the most bang for my buck if you know what I mean. The reason for me asking about the key because if we had that then we could modify the iso and take the ping out or atleast raise to a decent amount like 100. Also it would open up modding the games themselves hell even creating your own content and hacking it to run homebrew. Its all there if we would just try.

seriously buddy, the ping software is built into the system it is not on each disk, as i have said before, setup you router to forward all icmp traffic from the 360 back at the 360, no gurantee that would work, but every time i have asked you to do this you never respond!

secondly, their is no key on the disk, if your asking about putting homebrew on a disc than it is called signing, the data is signed in such a way that even 1 bit out of place(and i'm referring to the game data not all the extra partitions) that breaks the signature, which is why only 1:1 backups work, if you want that special signing key go ask the psp community about breaking it, they have far more control over the psp and still it is impossible to run homebrew on ofw(excluding 1.0 and 1.5), that's because it would take 1000's of years to figure out how m$ or sony, or whomeever sign's their data! the only way to run your own software on the 360 would be to go into m$ and asking them for all the specs to creating a disc for the 360, which they won't give over to you i gurantee

Ok I have looked up the icmp and could not find much on how to set it up on my linksys router and secondly I know they would not hand it over that is just stupid to think that in the first place. if you could point me at a tut on how to setup my router as you may know a better place to look than I. I am new at all of this but I am trying to learn.

The information is so scattered on this and other forumns that it is impossible to get the right info out of it all. If all these things are facts then there needs to be a sticky of all the things that are impossible to do with the console. That way I don't have to ask "dumb" questions and it would clear alot of things up. Thanks for your response. If you have inforamation then maybe you could write a sticky for all the things that are impossible.

sorry for being a bit harsh, but with the router your going to first need to flash dd-wrt on it(assuming WRT54G model: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_WRT54G/GL/GS/GX)

it's not hard, and pretty simple if your router is able to do it, secondly even after flashing your not going to have web portal access to icmp forwarding, for that you have to telnet into your router with putty or cmd and the username will be root, and pass well be whatever you set the pass for your web portal user/pass after that look up how to configure iptables, and the protocol is icmp, from their i'm sure the rest well be fairly easy.

yes, the information is scattered but that's why people need to do some sound research on what they are asking, or saying, and if you are trying to say something, provide links to where you found the information so others can simply say either yea ok, or no that info was incorrect rather than having to flame someone because it only looks like they pulled the info out of their ass.

hope this helps
