Xbox 360 Liteon DVD drive issues

Hello, today my xbox 360 Disk Drive wont open/close or spin disks up. This is on an unmodified console.i opened up the 360 and the disk drive here is my observations.

1. The laser still works
2. The Drive won't open or close
3. If i turn the gear that causes the drive to open, the xbox 360 recognizes its open (the middle light on the 360 blinks, and on the dashboard it says "opening"
4. The laser works, but it doesnt move on the little poles.
5. If I turn on the console with no disk it says "open tray" If i put a game in, the laser attempts to read the disk, but since the disk doesn't spin and the laser can't move, it stays on reading for awhile and then says "open tray".

I have completely taken apart the drive and cleaned the worm motor thing. ( looks like this

If i move the laser along the poles with my fingers, it slides smoothly, no grinding noises.

Can someone tell me whats wrong with my drive?

For the drive to open and close, there is a black rubber band on a gear, near the front of the unit, and that could be dry, and needs replacement, which is like $1 or less. As for the laser, sounds like the motor for it is dying, so it's just not having enough strength to spin the disc. Best bet would be to get a laser replacement.
