Anybody have any experience/reviews of reball services for a 360 in the US? I have looked at thexboxlady.com but I cannot find reviews or comments about anyone that has used her. I saw another called capitalcircuits who had some bad reviews. I just need to find an honest, reliable service for this.

the lady at theboxlady was run out of my town because she took in about 50 xbox's and could not fix them. i'm sure if you look on craigslist you can find somebody in your area that offers the service, i'n my area there are about 5 people that do that service, myself included.

I doubt anyone on craigslist does real reballing. Most likely a heatgun. I know a couple of guys but it's like $75 which isn't worth it to me.

There's a place in grand rapids that supposedly has a $13,000 ir automated machine. They will first reflow your xbox and if it doesn't take then they'll reball it. I only know this because i went in and talked to the staff.
Anyway check them out, it's $100 an xbox with a warranty.

Pretty expensive but eh it's an option.

That does seem a little steep considering I will probably have to pay shipping both ways as well. I checked craigslist and called everyone who had an ad in my area. They use heat guns. I want a pro quality reliable service. I will call PlaynTrade tomorrow though just to check. Thanks for all the replies...

Tried to call PlaynTrade's 800 number from the website and waited on hold for 45 minutes the first time (it kept saying I was first in the queue). Called back and waited 20 minutes. Have yet to talk to a real person there so I am not real wild about getting them to fix or do any service for me. Anybody else got suggestions or first hand experience they could share? I noticed a couple services on eBay but know nothing about them.

I'm not exactly sure why anyone would not have Microsoft replace or repair their out of warranty system for $99, given the options.
I believe the systems that microsoft ship are then covered by a warranty.
"All drives should be updated to Lite Touch + (LT+) firmware if playing on XBOX live. Samsung drives and pre-78/79 Hitachi drives do not utilize AP 2.5. All other drives are considered to be detectable by Microsoft (YMMV). Make sure all rips are ABGX verified, contain SSv2, and patched AP2.5 (where needed). XGD3 must currently be burned on new drive with PC Burner Max firmware for 100% rip. All modded consoles can be potentially unsafe for use on XBOX live."

They are but Microsoft just sends you a refurbished unit that has the same problem. If you get someone to reball your unit with leaded solder then you will probably never have a cold solder issue again. I just think it is a much more permanent fix than what MS is doing.

where are you located? i may be able to squeeze you in next weekend if you are going to mail it off i may be closer and i know i'm cheaper, i charge 55 dollars for a reball which you would want to do reflows are 40 and they will not last, maybe 90 days if you are lucky but reballing will almost assure that the problem will not come back, and the system gets reflowed in the process so its a double winner.
