Seriously, sicdude that was super! I think I understand what my problem is now. I'll use the activate.iso disk.
Thanks for all your help. I'll let you know what the end result is tho ;)

the other option also was to try another burner,,maybe the burner he is using giving him this headache,,,

No it was a wave issue, he is on a firmware that is incompatible with the waves he is trying to boot.
If you read some of his posts you'll see that he has used different burners.

No it was a wave issue, he is on a firmware that is incompatible with the waves he is trying to boot.
If you read some of his posts you'll see that he has used different burners.

Bad news.
I tried the activate.iso disc. It didnt do anything in my 360 except say "open tray". I thought it must be a bad burn, so I thought, forget it I'll just patch the wave 6 iso to wave 2.
I patched the iso to wave 2 successfully. Burned it on a verb and guess what ... I get the same "Play CD" error. I put the iso through abgx WITH LEVEL 0, so that it only checked it and it gave a message which meant that it had been patched.
I dont understand what could be wrong anymore. I dont even know why it says "Play CD" instead of "Play DVD".
Other details:
1. I have a TSST corp drive, I believe its a samsung drive and imgburn is unable to change the booktype. Last I read in a thread, you dont need to change the booktype settings in imgburn as it automatically sets the booktype to DVDROM.
2. I have tried burning the disc in another writer (unknown manufacturer). IMGburn again couldnt change the booktype, and I got the same Play CD error.
3. Other patched backups are playing. e.g. AC2 which is a wave 4 game.
This is major sadness. Any further suggesstions/possibilities/tests I could do?

Ok well this is bad news, but at least we worked out that you were on an outdated firmware.
Maybe it's time to get, a new burner or a new 360 drive

I just checked that ALL the dvds I had burned work on another modded 360! It means that my writer is burning the discs fine. But I patched one of the discs to patch 2 as well, but it still didn't work on my 360. Like, I said AC2 worked on my 360, but a patched ME2 didn't.
Any ideas, what could be the problem now?
