Hi everyone!

So here's my problem. A while back i fixed my xbox when i got rrod.It was working fine for about 4 months, now it started acting up again. It started freezing up at the logo screen or when i started playing...so i figured i was gonna get rrod again and i overheated my xbox got the red lights and fixed it again ...it was working fine for a couple of days but now it freezes up after a start playing something...like a minute into the game...and i have no idea why...i read somewhere that it could be the RAM or maybe the DVD drive?? Then again it's possible that i messed something up the last time a fixed it but i honestly have no idea.If anyone has an idea about what's wrong please help :(

How did you fix the RROD the first time?

You need to get either a proper reflow or use the heatgun method.

the first time i just removed the heat sinks , cleaned the cpu and the gpu and applied new paste...it worked just fine for about 4 months as i mentioned earlier...the x-clamps were already removed when i bought the console so i didn't have to bother with that...should it freeze like that if the screws are too tight or that has no connection whatsoever??and could u please link me how i can get a proper reflow or use the heatgun method because i have no idea how that works:P

For a proper reflow, you looking at around £40. If you want to go the heatgun way, have a look at w00lys heatgun guide. I personally use slightly different timings and insulate in a different way but the priciple is the same.

Thanks for the help :)...gonna try it out and get back to ya if it worked. And do you think i can use this method even if i don't have rrod?...because the console starts up it just freezes as soon as i start up a game.

The heat gun method work but also after doing the heat gun I've been putting the x-clamp back on and not having any problem for a year.

Yes, it should fix freezing problems too. I would personally recommend leaving the microsoft xclamps off, this should "delay" the problem from returning
