My trusty xbox ate shit today. She was a virgin Xenon, never been touched by any men. booted her up on this fine Sunday morning, to the 3 RLOD, with the secondary error code of 0020. my heart sank. tried rebooting it a few more times just to make sure. ended up taking her apart, after popping the xclamps off, i noticed that both the CPU and GPU had very dried up thermal compound on them. i am a poor man, and before i spend the 10$ for some good paste, i was wondering if this could possibly be the cause of my issue. i know she will never be the same, but can i save her?

most of the time the 0020 code is caused by the mosfets.

ahh, i have heard many many things can cause this error, and starting with the cheapest fix seems most rational.

yes, and as long as you have the heatsinks off a fresh coat of thermal paste would not hurt as well.
