i know about the Double Layer DVD+R DVD's

but i read that you HAVe to set the booktype (bitset) the dvd to DVD-ROM

i have a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH41N

can this drive set the booktype?

is it ABSOLUTELY nessicary for the game to boot?

what do i do?

is there any Modded Firmware available for my drive?

is anyone willing to mod the firmware for my drive?

Unless things have changed recently, all you need to worry about, is if the layerbreak for the dvd is at the right place. So, when you backup a game, you'll have an .iso and a .dvd file. The .dvd file has the layerbreak (you can view it in notepad). Just try burning one with imgburn, and see if it comes out ok.

I haven't messed with booktype in years, so you should be ok.

yeah i have burned one game back in the day and i opened the . dvd file in notepad to see how it all worked

i was just woried about if the burned game would work and i was also woried that i wouldnt be able to play the games that ive bought blank dvds for and all the money i have/will invest in hacking my dvd drive

and having a liteon drive means i have to put up a good amount of money before i can even see if it will work and if i wasted about $100 for nothing

Just run it thru ABGX and it will make the .dvd file, and just load that with IMGBURN. Then you are good to go...
