XBOX Live and Netgear WGR614v9 Router

recently got virgin broadband & they supplied the above router which is fine except my son cant play his xbox live as it wont let it connect through this router. Netgear, Virgin and Xbox are no help. If I go into Netgear settings and disable security Xbox Live will work fine but I dont want to leave the security off. Can anyone help please.

You probably just need to 'forward' the correct ports for Live to work, see here ~ http://portforward.com/english/routers/p...ox_Live_360.htm

Here's an example of my main router's xbox ports being forwarded ~




(i have 2 360's, ignore the fact that both 360's don't have the same exact ports forwarded in the screenshot, it works fine so i leave it alone)

Cheers m8 but when I try to forward port it says port conflict with other service

It's best if you delve into the Netgear's manual and research it on the net, i find Netgear's fimware (ie the menu screens on the router itself) to be clunky myself so i won't try helping you further myself. Other than that a few of the regulars here use Netgear so am sure someone else will jump in to help
