XBox Media Extender Help

Here's my situation. I've sucessfully backed-up a DVD to a single VOB file. The VOB file plays in WMC7. I've created a new folder called Videos on my desktop. I moved the VOB file into that folder and renamed it to .mpg. In WMC7, I can see the movie. Start the XBOX and I don't see the file under the Video Library. So here's my questions.

1. Why can't I see the file on my XBOX? Do I need to share the folder and add it to my library on the XBOX?
2. When I change the file to .mpg, and try to play it in WMC7, the video plays but the audio does not....it goes "click click click click click"...anyway to fix this?

yea i kind of ran into the same issue. my PS3 would play a VOB reanamed fine, but the xbox wouldn't. i found on of those free XVID converters and converted it. drops the quality some but works. you might be able to mess with the setting and get a better one, but i didn't put the time into it. it was a kids DVD my son liked, so i was just trying to stop it from getting broke.
